Jonathan Holslag is a Belgian political scientist and professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is an expert on international relations, geopolitics, and European integration. Holslag has written several books on these topics, including The Growth of the Chinese Economy: Assessing Sustainability, European Power in International Investment Regimes, and Trapped Giant: China’s Military Rise. He is a frequent contributor to international media outlets, including The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Financial Times. Holslag is a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts and a board member of the European Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a senior fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
