George Saunders
George Saunders is an American writer of short stories, essays, novellas, children's books, and novels. He is best known for his short story collections, including CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, Pastoralia, and Tenth of December, which won the 2013 Story Prize. His 2017 novel, Lincoln in the Bardo, won the Man Booker Prize. Saunders has also written for The New Yorker, GQ, Harper's, McSweeney's, and The New York Times Magazine. He is a professor of creative writing at Syracuse University and a Guggenheim Fellow. He has been praised for his unique style of writing, which combines elements of realism, fantasy, and satire. His work has been described as "darkly funny, deeply compassionate, and profoundly moving."
