Simon Louvish

Simon Louvish is a British author, journalist, and film historian. He is best known for his books on the history of comedy, including his acclaimed biography of the British comedian, Stan Laurel. Louvish has also written extensively on the history of British cinema, including books on the Carry On films, the Ealing comedies, and the horror films of Hammer. He has also written biographies of the British comedians Peter Sellers and Tony Hancock. Louvish has also written several books on the history of the British music hall, including a biography of the music hall star, Marie Lloyd. He has also written books on the history of the British circus, including a biography of the clown, Coco the Clown. Louvish is a frequent contributor to the British film magazine, Sight & Sound, and has written for the Guardian, the Independent, and the Times.
