David Whitehouse
David Whitehouse is a British journalist and author who has written extensively on science and technology. He is best known for his work as the science editor of the BBC News website, where he wrote about a wide range of topics from astronomy to zoology. He has also written several books, including The Sun Kings: The Unexpected Tragedy of Richard Carrington and the Tale of How Modern Astronomy Began and Out of the Darkness: The Story of Light.
Whitehouse has a degree in physics from the University of Manchester and a postgraduate diploma in journalism from City University London. He has worked as a science journalist for over 25 years, writing for publications such as The Guardian, The Times, New Scientist, and The Economist. He has also appeared on television and radio programs, including BBC Radio 4's Today program and BBC World Service's Science in Action.
Whitehouse is a passionate advocate for science communication and education. He is a regular speaker at science festivals and events, and has been a judge for the Royal Society's Winton Prize for Science Books. He is also a trustee of the Science Museum in London.
