Fabien Cousteau
Fabien Cousteau is a French ocean explorer, conservationist, filmmaker, innovator, and the grandson of legendary oceanographer Jacques Cousteau. He is the founder of the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation and education. He is also the founder of Plant a Fish, a global initiative to restore ocean habitats and species.
Fabien has dedicated his life to exploring and protecting the world’s oceans. He has led numerous expeditions, including a record-breaking 31-day mission to the Aquarius Reef Base in the Florida Keys, and a mission to the Indian Ocean to study the effects of climate change on coral reefs. He has also produced several award-winning documentaries, including Mission 31, which chronicles his 31-day mission to the Aquarius Reef Base.
Fabien is a passionate advocate for ocean conservation and education. He has spoken at the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and the White House, and has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, The New York Times, and TIME Magazine. He is also a member of the National Geographic Society’s Explorers Council.
Fabien’s work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the United Nations’ Champions of the Earth Award, the Explorers Club’s Lowell Thomas Award, and the National Geographic Society’s Emerging Explorer Award. He is also the recipient of the French Legion of Honor, the highest award given by the French government.
