David Cote is an American businessman and former CEO of Honeywell International. He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1952 and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in accounting. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. and then moved to General Electric in 1982. He worked his way up the ranks at GE, eventually becoming the Chief Financial Officer in 1997. In 2002, he was appointed CEO of Honeywell International, a Fortune 100 company. During his tenure, he led the company through a period of significant growth and profitability. He was also instrumental in the merger of Honeywell and AlliedSignal, creating one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies. Cote retired from Honeywell in 2017 and is now a director at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and a senior advisor at Blackstone. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Council on Foreign Relations. Cote is a highly respected leader in the business world and is known for his commitment to ethical business practices.
