Brian Conaghan
Brian Conaghan is an award-winning author of young adult fiction. He was born in Scotland and now lives in Ireland. His books have been translated into over twenty languages and have been shortlisted for numerous awards, including the Carnegie Medal, the Costa Book Award, and the Branford Boase Award. His debut novel, The Bombs That Brought Us Together, won the 2016 Costa Children’s Book Award.
Brian’s writing is often described as funny, moving, and thought-provoking. He has a unique ability to capture the voice of young people and to explore difficult topics in a way that is both accessible and engaging. His stories often explore themes of identity, family, and friendship, and he has a particular interest in exploring the experiences of young people from diverse backgrounds.
Brian is a passionate advocate for young people’s rights and has spoken at numerous events and festivals around the world. He is also a regular contributor to the Guardian newspaper and has written for the BBC. He is currently working on his next novel, which is due to be published in 2021.
