Johnny Ball
Johnny Ball is a British television presenter, mathematician, author, and former politician. He is best known for his long-running BBC television series Think of a Number and its spin-off shows, including Think Again and Johnny Ball Reveals All. He has also written several books on mathematics and science for children.
Johnny Ball was born in London in 1938 and attended the University of London, where he studied mathematics and physics. After graduating, he worked as a teacher and lecturer before becoming a television presenter in the 1970s. He has since presented a number of popular science and mathematics programmes, including Think of a Number, Think Again, and Johnny Ball Reveals All.
In addition to his television work, Johnny Ball has written several books on mathematics and science for children. His books include Maths for Mums and Dads, Maths for Fun, and Maths for the Terrified. He has also written several books on the history of mathematics, including The History of Mathematics and The Story of Numbers.
Johnny Ball has also been involved in politics, having served as a Liberal Democrat councillor in the London Borough of Camden from 1994 to 1998. He is a strong advocate of science education and has been a vocal critic of the UK government's cuts to science funding.
