Benjamin Graham

Benjamin Graham was an influential investor, economist, and professor. He is widely considered to be the father of value investing, a style of investing that focuses on buying stocks that are undervalued by the market. Graham was born in London in 1894 and moved to the United States in 1914. He attended Columbia University, where he earned a degree in economics and later taught at the university. Graham wrote two of the most influential books on investing, Security Analysis and The Intelligent Investor. He also co-founded the investment firm Graham-Newman Corporation. Graham's investment philosophy was based on the idea of buying stocks that were undervalued by the market and selling them when they reached their intrinsic value. He believed that investors should focus on the long-term and not be swayed by short-term market fluctuations. Graham's influence on the world of investing is still felt today. His books are still widely read and his investment philosophy is still followed by many investors. He is credited with helping to create the modern investment industry and his legacy lives on in the form of the Benjamin Graham Center for Value Investing at Columbia University.
