Suzanne Collins
Suzanne Collins is an American author and television writer best known for her bestselling Hunger Games trilogy. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1962 and grew up in the suburbs of Hartford. She attended Alabama's Birmingham-Southern College, where she earned a degree in theater. After college, she moved to New York City and worked as a writer for children's television shows, including Clarissa Explains It All and Little Bear.
In 2008, Collins published her first novel, The Hunger Games, which quickly became a bestseller. The novel was followed by two sequels, Catching Fire and Mockingjay, which were also bestsellers. The Hunger Games trilogy has been adapted into four feature films, with the fourth and final installment released in 2015.
In addition to her work on The Hunger Games, Collins has written several other books, including the Underland Chronicles series and the picture book Year of the Jungle. She has also written for television, including the Nickelodeon series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! and the Netflix series The Magic School Bus Rides Again. Collins continues to write and publish books for both children and adults.
