Suleika Jaouad
Suleika Jaouad is an award-winning writer, speaker, and advocate for young adults living with chronic illness. She is the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir Between Two Kingdoms, which chronicles her experience with leukemia and her journey to find meaning and purpose in the face of illness. She is also the creator of the Life, Interrupted project, which amplifies the stories of young adults living with chronic illness.
Suleika has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and on NPR, and has spoken at the United Nations, TEDx, and the World Economic Forum. She is a 2020 TED Fellow, a 2019 National Geographic Explorer, and a 2018 Aspen Ideas Scholar. She is also a member of the National Advisory Council for the National Institutes of Health.
Suleika is passionate about creating a world where young adults living with chronic illness are seen, heard, and supported. She is a fierce advocate for the power of storytelling to create meaningful change and to foster understanding and empathy.
