Anthony Doerr

Anthony Doerr is an American author of fiction and non-fiction. He is best known for his 2014 novel All the Light We Cannot See, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. Doerr has also written two collections of short stories, Memory Wall and The Shell Collector, as well as the memoir Four Seasons in Rome. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, and other publications. Doerr is a recipient of the Rome Prize, the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Award, the National Magazine Award, the Barnes & Noble Discover Award, and the Story Prize. He has been a finalist for the National Book Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the PEN/Faulkner Award. Doerr’s work has been translated into more than 40 languages. He lives in Boise, Idaho, with his wife and two sons.
