Maggie O'Farrell
Maggie O'Farrell is an award-winning British author of eight novels and one memoir. She is best known for her lyrical and emotionally charged writing, which often explores themes of family, identity, and love. Her debut novel, After You'd Gone, was published in 2000 and won the Betty Trask Award. Her subsequent novels, including The Distance Between Us, The Hand That First Held Mine, and This Must Be the Place, have been widely acclaimed and have won numerous awards, including the Costa Novel Award and the Women's Prize for Fiction. O'Farrell's memoir, I Am, I Am, I Am, was published in 2017 and was a Sunday Times bestseller. O'Farrell's writing has been praised for its vivid imagery and its ability to capture the complexities of human relationships. Her work has been translated into over thirty languages and has been adapted for the stage and screen. O'Farrell is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and lives in Edinburgh with her family.
