Julie Orringer

Julie Orringer is an American author and professor of creative writing. She is best known for her debut novel, The Invisible Bridge, which was a New York Times bestseller and was named one of the best books of the year by The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Chicago Tribune. Her other works include the short story collection How to Breathe Underwater, which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and the novel The Flight Portfolio, which was longlisted for the 2019 National Book Award. Orringer has also written for The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and The New York Times Magazine. She is currently a professor of creative writing at Princeton University. Orringer's writing is known for its lyrical prose and its exploration of themes such as identity, family, and the immigrant experience.
