Judith Kerr

Judith Kerr is a beloved British author and illustrator, best known for her classic children’s books The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Mog the Forgetful Cat. Born in Berlin in 1923, she and her family fled Nazi Germany in 1933, eventually settling in England. After studying at the Central School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, she began her career as a scriptwriter for the BBC. Kerr’s first book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, was published in 1968 and has since become a classic, selling over five million copies worldwide. She has written and illustrated over 30 books, including the Mog series, which follows the adventures of a forgetful cat. Her books have been translated into over 30 languages and adapted for stage and screen. Kerr has been awarded numerous accolades for her work, including the Booktrust Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. She is an inspiration to many, and her books continue to delight children and adults alike.
