John Bunyan
John Bunyan was an English writer and preacher born in 1628. He is best known for his allegorical Christian novel, The Pilgrim's Progress, which has been translated into more than 200 languages and is one of the most famous books in the English language. Bunyan was a Puritan and a nonconformist, and his writings reflect his strong religious beliefs. He was imprisoned for 12 years for preaching without a license, during which time he wrote The Pilgrim's Progress. He also wrote several other religious works, including Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners and The Life and Death of Mr. Badman. Bunyan's works are still widely read today and have been adapted into plays, films, and other media. He is remembered as one of the most influential Christian writers of all time.
