James Scudamore

James Scudamore is an English author and journalist. He is best known for his novels The Amnesia Clinic, Heliopolis, and Wreaking, which have all been critically acclaimed. He has also written for The Guardian, The Times, and The Independent. Scudamore was born in London and studied English at Oxford University. After graduating, he worked as a journalist for several years before turning to writing fiction. His first novel, The Amnesia Clinic, was published in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel Award. His second novel, Heliopolis, was published in 2009 and was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. His third novel, Wreaking, was published in 2014 and was shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award. Scudamore's writing is often described as darkly comic and surreal. His novels explore themes of identity, memory, and the human condition. He has been praised for his vivid and imaginative prose, as well as his ability to create complex and compelling characters. Scudamore currently lives in London with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his fourth novel, which is due to be published in 2021.
