Taghreed Najjar

Taghreed Najjar is a Palestinian novelist, journalist, and screenwriter. She was born in Jerusalem in 1967 and has lived in Amman, Jordan since the early 1990s. She is best known for her novel, The End of Spring, which was shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2009. Najjar has also written several other novels, including The Butterfly's Burden and The Last Chapter. She has written for various newspapers and magazines, and has also written several screenplays for television and film. Najjar is a passionate advocate for Palestinian rights and has been a vocal critic of the Israeli occupation of Palestine. She is a strong believer in the power of literature to bring about social change.
