David J. Chalmers
David J. Chalmers is an Australian philosopher and cognitive scientist specializing in the fields of philosophy of mind and philosophy of language. He is best known for his formulation of the notion of the “hard problem of consciousness” and his arguments for a “naturalistic dualism”. He is currently Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Centre for Consciousness at the Australian National University. He has written numerous books and articles on consciousness, philosophy of mind, and related topics. His work has been influential in the fields of philosophy, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the Cognitive Science Society.
