Donna Leon
Donna Leon is an American-born author of crime fiction set in Venice, Italy. She is best known for her series of novels featuring the fictional Venetian detective Commissario Guido Brunetti. Leon has written twenty-nine novels in the series, which have been translated into 35 languages and adapted for television. Her books have won numerous awards, including the CWA Macallan Silver Dagger for Fiction and the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière. Leon has also written several non-fiction works, including a biography of Casanova and a travel guide to Venice. She is a passionate advocate for animal rights and environmental protection. Leon currently lives in Venice, where she continues to write and explore the city she loves.
