Andrea Camilleri
Andrea Camilleri (1925-2019) was an Italian writer and director. He is best known for his series of detective novels featuring the Sicilian investigator Salvo Montalbano. Camilleri wrote over 30 novels, as well as numerous short stories, plays, and screenplays. He was awarded the prestigious Strega Prize for Literature in 1994 for his novel La forma dell'acqua. He was also a professor of Italian literature at the University of Rome. Camilleri's works have been translated into numerous languages and adapted for television and film. His books have been praised for their wit, humor, and insight into Sicilian culture. Camilleri's legacy will continue to be celebrated for generations to come.
