Zakiya Dalila Harris is an American lawyer, policymaker, and advocate for social justice. She is the first African American woman to serve as the Secretary of State of California. Harris has a long history of public service, having served as the District Attorney of San Francisco, the Attorney General of California, and a United States Senator. She is a passionate advocate for civil rights, criminal justice reform, and economic opportunity. Harris is a graduate of Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She is a mother of two and a devoted wife.
