Rene Denfeld

Rene Denfeld is an award-winning author, journalist, and advocate for the incarcerated. She is the author of four novels, including The Child Finder, which won the Oregon Book Award and was a finalist for the Carnegie Medal. Denfeld is also the author of the nonfiction book The Butterfly Girl, which chronicles her work as a death penalty investigator. She has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian, and has been featured on NPR and BBC.
