Claire Askew

Claire Askew is a Scottish poet, novelist, and educator. She is the author of two collections of poetry, This changes things (Bloodaxe Books, 2017) and Head of Want (Bloodaxe Books, 2020). She is also the author of the novel What Remains (Hodder & Stoughton, 2019). Askew is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh, and a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of St Andrews. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award, the Saltire Society First Book of the Year Award, and the Scottish Book Trust’s Next Chapter Award. Askew is a passionate advocate for the power of literature to create positive change.
