Mary Lynn Bracht is a Korean-American author and former nurse. She is best known for her debut novel White Chrysanthemum, which was published in 2018 and won the 2019 HWA Debut Crown Award. Bracht was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to the United States when she was three. She studied nursing at the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a nurse for several years before turning to writing. Bracht is passionate about exploring the stories of Korean women and their experiences of war, displacement, and identity. Her writing has been featured in The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. She currently lives in Austin, Texas.
