Ian Urbina

Ian Urbina is an award-winning investigative journalist and author. He is best known for his work with The New York Times, where he wrote a series of articles on the offshore oil and gas industry. He has also written for The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and The Guardian. Urbina has won numerous awards for his work, including the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting, the George Polk Award, and the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting. He is the author of The Outlaw Ocean, a book about the lawlessness of the high seas, and The Burning Coast, a book about the environmental crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. Urbina is a passionate advocate for the environment and human rights, and his work has been featured in documentaries, podcasts, and other media outlets. He is currently a senior fellow at the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University.
