Dave Eggers

Dave Eggers is an American writer, editor, and publisher. He is best known for his 2000 memoir A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, which chronicles his experience raising his younger brother after their parents' death. Eggers is also the founder of McSweeney's, an independent publishing house, and the co-founder of 826 National, a network of writing and tutoring centers for youth. He has written several novels, including What Is the What, The Circle, and The Parade, as well as non-fiction works such as Zeitoun and Heroes of the Frontier. Eggers has won numerous awards, including the National Book Award, the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and the TED Prize. He is a passionate advocate for literacy and education.
