David Kastan

David Kastan is an American scholar and professor of English at Yale University. He is a leading authority on early modern English literature and culture, and has written extensively on the works of William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and Ben Jonson. He is the author of several books, including A Will to Believe: Shakespeare and Religion, Shakespeare and the Shapes of Time, and The Oxford Handbook of Shakespeare. He has also edited several editions of Shakespeare’s plays, including the Arden Shakespeare series. Kastan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the American Philosophical Society. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Folger Library’s Shakespeare Prize.
