Helen Macdonald

Helen Macdonald is a British writer, naturalist, and historian. She is best known for her 2014 memoir H is for Hawk, which won the Samuel Johnson Prize, the Costa Book Award, and the Duff Cooper Prize. Macdonald is also the author of the book Vesper Flights, which was shortlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London. Macdonald has written for The New York Times, The Guardian, and The New Yorker, among other publications. She is a passionate advocate for nature and wildlife conservation, and her work has been featured in BBC documentaries.
