Sharlene Teo
Sharlene Teo is a Singaporean writer and filmmaker. She is best known for her debut novel, Ponti, which was longlisted for the 2018 Man Booker Prize. Teo has also written for publications such as The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Straits Times. She has directed several short films, including the award-winning "The Girl Who Couldn't Fly". Teo is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and the University of East Anglia's Creative Writing MA program. She is currently working on her second novel and a feature-length film. Teo is passionate about exploring the complexities of identity and belonging in her work.
