Ovid

Ovid (43 BC - 17 AD) was a Roman poet and one of the most influential figures in classical literature. He is best known for his works Metamorphoses and Ars Amatoria. Ovid was born in Sulmo, Italy and studied rhetoric and law in Rome. He was a prolific writer, producing over 20 works in his lifetime. Ovid's works were highly influential in the development of Latin literature, and his influence can be seen in the works of many later authors. He was exiled from Rome in 8 AD, and died in exile in 17 AD. Ovid's works remain popular to this day, and his influence on literature is still felt.
