Ottessa Moshfegh
Ottessa Moshfegh is an American novelist and short story writer. She was born in 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She attended Barnard College and received her MFA from Brown University. Her debut novel, Eileen, was published in 2015 and won the PEN/Hemingway Award for debut fiction. Her other works include the short story collection Homesick for Another World and the novel My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Moshfegh's writing has been praised for its dark humor and its exploration of the human condition. She has been featured in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and The New York Times. Her work has been translated into several languages.
