Seanan McGuire is an American author of fantasy and science fiction. She is best known for her October Daye urban fantasy series, as well as her InCryptid series. She has also written several stand-alone novels, short stories, and comic books. McGuire is a prolific writer, having published over twenty books since 2009. She is a multiple Hugo Award and Nebula Award nominee, and has won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, the Alex Award, and the Andre Norton Award. McGuire is also a musician, performing under the name Mira Grant. She lives in Seattle, Washington, with her two cats.
