Kenneth Oppel is a Canadian author of children's and young adult fiction. He is best known for his Silverwing trilogy, which has sold over a million copies worldwide and has been adapted into an animated television series. He has also written the Airborn trilogy, the Starclimber trilogy, and the Half Brother trilogy. His books have won numerous awards, including the Governor General's Award, the Michael L. Printz Honor, and the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children Award. Oppel has also written for television, film, and stage, and is a frequent speaker at schools and libraries. He currently lives in Toronto with his family.
