Tupelo Hassman
Tupelo Hassman is an American novelist and short story writer. She is best known for her debut novel, Girlchild, which was published in 2012. The novel follows the story of Rory Dawn Hendrix, a young girl growing up in a trailer park in Nevada. Hassman's writing is often described as lyrical and poetic, and her work has been praised for its honest and unflinching portrayal of poverty and the struggles of growing up in a difficult environment. Her other works include the short story collection, I Go to Some Hollow, and the novel, Fable of the Swan. Hassman has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Pushcart Prize and the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction. She currently lives in California.
