Ernest Cline is an American novelist, screenwriter, and actor. He is best known for his 2011 novel Ready Player One, which was adapted into a 2018 film directed by Steven Spielberg. Cline's other works include the novels Armada and Ready Player Two, as well as the screenplay for the film Fanboys. He has also appeared in several films, including The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension and The Great Buck Howard. Cline is an avid fan of classic video games, comic books, and science fiction, and his works often draw on these interests. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
