Giles Andreae
Giles Andreae is a British author and illustrator of children's books. He is best known for his popular series of books about the character, Purple Ronnie, which he created in 1994. He has also written and illustrated many other books, including Rumble in the Jungle, Commotion in the Ocean, and Giraffes Can't Dance.
Andreae has won numerous awards for his work, including the Nestle Smarties Book Prize, the Sheffield Children's Book Award, and the Red House Children's Book Award. He has also been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
Andreae is passionate about inspiring children to read and write. He has been a patron of the National Literacy Trust since 2003 and is a regular visitor to schools and libraries. He also works with the charity Booktrust to promote reading and writing.
Andreae is a passionate environmentalist and is a patron of the World Land Trust. He is also a keen supporter of the charity, Trees for Cities, which works to plant trees in urban areas.
In addition to his writing and illustrating, Andreae is also a musician and songwriter. He has released two albums, 'Giles Andreae and the Big Bunch of Fun' and 'Giles Andreae and the Big Bunch of Fun 2'. He has also written and performed songs for television and radio.
