Yoko Tawada

Yoko Tawada is a Japanese author and poet. Born in Tokyo in 1960, she moved to Germany in 1982 and has since lived in both countries. She writes in both Japanese and German, and her works often explore the themes of identity, language, and cultural displacement. Tawada has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Akutagawa Prize, the Tanizaki Prize, and the Goethe Medal.
