N. K. Jemisin
N. K. Jemisin is an award-winning American science fiction and fantasy author. She is best known for her critically acclaimed Broken Earth trilogy, which won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Jemisin has also written several other novels, including The Fifth Season, The Obelisk Gate, and The City We Became. She is the first African-American author to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and the first author to win the award three times in a row. Jemisin is also a recipient of the Locus Award, Nebula Award, and World Fantasy Award. She is a passionate advocate for diversity in literature and has been a vocal critic of racism in the publishing industry.
