Kate Andersen Brower is an American author and historian. She is best known for her biographies of First Ladies of the United States, including her New York Times bestseller, First Women: The Grace and Power of America's Modern First Ladies. She is also the author of The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House, which was named one of the best books of 2015 by The Washington Post. Brower has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, including CBS This Morning, NPR, and Fox News. She is a graduate of Princeton University and lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two children.
