Michael Burleigh is a renowned British historian and author. He is best known for his works on the history of modern Europe, particularly the Nazi era. He has written several books on the subject, including The Third Reich: A New History and The Third Reich and the War. He has also written extensively on the history of the Cold War and the history of terrorism. Burleigh has been awarded numerous awards for his work, including the Wolfson History Prize and the British Academy Medal. He is currently a professor of modern history at the University of Exeter.
