Andrzej Sapkowski
Andrzej Sapkowski is a Polish fantasy writer, best known for his series of books about the witcher Geralt of Rivia. Born in 1948 in Łódź, Poland, Sapkowski studied economics and business, but began writing fantasy and science fiction in the 1980s. His first short story, “The Witcher”, was published in 1986 and was the basis for the Witcher series. The series has since been adapted into a popular video game franchise, as well as a Netflix series. Sapkowski has also written several other books, including The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, and Baptism of Fire. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 2019.
