Jeffrey Archer is an English author and former politician. He has written numerous bestselling novels and short story collections, as well as plays and non-fiction works. He was a Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, and served two prison sentences for perjury and perverting the course of justice. His works have been translated into over 37 languages and have sold over 275 million copies worldwide. He is also a noted philanthropist, having donated millions of pounds to charities and causes around the world. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Honorary Fellow of St John's College, Oxford.
