Louis de Bernieres
Louis de Bernieres is a British novelist, poet, and screenwriter. He is best known for his novel Captain Corelli's Mandolin, which won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize in 1995. He has also written several other novels, including Birds Without Wings, The Dust That Falls From Dreams, and Red Dog. De Bernieres has also written several collections of poetry, including The War of Don Emmanuel's Nether Parts and The Troublesome Offspring of Cardinal Guzman. He has also written several screenplays, including the adaptation of Captain Corelli's Mandolin for the 2001 film. De Bernieres has been awarded several literary awards, including the Richard and Judy Best Read of the Year Award and the Prix Femina Etranger.
