Matsuri Hino is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator. She is best known for her shōjo manga series Vampire Knight and MeruPuri. Hino debuted as a manga artist in 1999 with the one-shot story "Koori no Mamono no Monogatari". Her first series, MeruPuri, was serialized in LaLa magazine from 2003 to 2005. In 2004, she began the series Vampire Knight, which was serialized in LaLa DX magazine from 2005 to 2013. Hino has also written and illustrated several light novels, including the Vampire Knight series. She has won numerous awards for her work, including the Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo manga in 2009.
