Angie Thomas

Angie Thomas is an American author and activist best known for her 2017 debut novel, The Hate U Give. The novel, which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, tells the story of a 16-year-old girl who witnesses the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend by a police officer. The book was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a 2018 film of the same name. Thomas has since released two additional novels, On the Come Up and Concrete Rose. She is an advocate for social justice and has spoken out against police brutality and racism.
