Taran Matharu is a British author best known for his fantasy series, The Summoner Trilogy. He was born in London in 1991 and grew up in a multicultural family. He studied Business Management at the University of Westminster and worked in the corporate world for several years before becoming a full-time author. His debut novel, The Novice, was published in 2014 and was an instant success, becoming a New York Times bestseller. He has since written several other books, including the sequels to The Novice, as well as the standalone novel, The Outcast. His books have been translated into over twenty languages and have been praised for their unique blend of fantasy and adventure. Taran currently lives in London with his wife and two children.
