Ella Mills Woodward
Ella Mills Woodward (1860-1951) was an American author and philanthropist. She was born in New York City and attended the prestigious Brearley School. She wrote several books, including The Cook Book by "Olive Green" (1902) and The Cook Book by "Mrs. Mills" (1905). She was also a passionate advocate for women's rights and education, and was a founding member of the National Women's Trade Union League. She was a major donor to the YWCA and the National Council of Jewish Women. She was also a major supporter of the NAACP and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She was a lifelong advocate for social justice and equality.
