Onjali Q. Raúf is a British author, activist, and founder of the award-winning charity Making Herstory. She is best known for her debut novel, The Boy at the Back of the Class, which won the Blue Peter Book Award and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Raúf is also the author of the follow-up novel, The Star Outside My Window, and the picture book, Welcome to Our World. Raúf is a passionate advocate for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, and her charity works to provide practical and emotional support to women and children affected by human trafficking. She is a recipient of the Points of Light Award from the Prime Minister and the Queen’s Young Leaders Award.
