Helen Rutter

Helen Rutter is a British composer, conductor, and educator. She has composed for a variety of ensembles, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also conducted orchestras in the UK, Europe, and the US. She is a professor of composition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and has been a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She has won numerous awards for her compositions, including the British Composer Award for Orchestral Music in 2018. Her music has been performed around the world, and she has been commissioned to write works for the BBC Proms, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She is passionate about music education and has been involved in numerous projects to promote music in schools.
